President Hamid Karzai Escapes Unharmed After Taliban Attack
Security forces whisked Mr Karzai and other dignitaries away and hundreds fled as shots rang out. Two MPs were reported to be among the wounded.
The parade was a celebration to mark 16 years since the overthrow of the country's Soviet-backed rule.
A spokesman for the Taleban said the movement had carried out the attack.
He said they had not targeted Mr Karzai directly, but wanted to show how easily they could get access to such events. See Video

900,000 Children Abused or Neglected Annually
A study focused on children younger than 1, and found nearly a third were one week old or younger when the abuse or neglect occurred.
Most of these cases involved neglect, and may in part reflect families without health insurance that are not getting adequate care for their children, said David Finkelhor, who is familiar with the data but was not involved in the study. Finkelhor directs the Crimes against Children Research Center at the University of New Hampshire. See Video
